Charlie's Denver

I have went to this bar for years enjoyed the drag shows on Sunday’s and overall enjoy my time when there. I’ve heard rumors they are biased against lesbian woman and especially woman of color. I unfortunately was targeted by a bartender on a Monday I believe his name was Edwin. He was apparently peeking in on me while I was using the restroom. I squat to pee what woman wouldn’t in that nasty establishment and being the lady I am I wiped the seat off after from the urine splash. When I came out the stall right in my face stood Edwin and another man in their underwear telling me I need to get out I was wiping vomit off the toilet. The fact that he was even peeking on me in his underwear while I was on the toilet is very discomforting. I also added a photo of my receipt if y’all make out the name I’d love to follow up with the owner this behavior is very inappropriate.

The first time I stepped into this bar was Halloween. It was an interesting layout, good music, bartenders were friendly. Fast forward to last night......... There were 5 (we counted) different Denver police officers present in the bar. If you need a strong police presence in your business. Maybe one should rethink their business plan. I understand how rowdy a bar can become. But 5 officers, to control your crowd? That is insane. As well as, The many of times a spot was cleared because someone throwing up. It goes from smelling okay, to straight up, chemical mixture of pinesol, bleach, and ammonia for the rest of the night. Not to mention the hundreds of stories I have been told of friends being roofied either by bar staff or by standards. To the point where the joke has become "cover your drink sitting down at Charlie's" Woof!

Alyssia was an awesome host, DJ, and performer. The drinks were fairly priced, and the bartenders did a great job keeping the space clean and organized. The music and theme were on point, and the drag show and go-go dancers made it a really fun night overall. The bartenders made sure the bar tops and floors were always clean!

Charlie’s is one of my favorite places to socialize in Denver. The atmosphere is always welcoming, and there’s something going on nearly every night of the week — from themed events to drink specials that won’t break the bank. The drinks are affordable, the music is always on point, and the staff? Truly some of the friendliest and most fun people around. Whether you're going out with friends or flying solo, it's easy to strike up a conversation and feel right at home. If you're looking for a laid-back, inclusive, and genuinely good time, Charlie’s is the spot. Can’t recommend it enough!

Adam’s got that effortless charm that makes you feel like a regular even on your first visit. Everyone here goes above and beyond to make sure you’re having the best night possible.
